Circuit Court Name Searches

Requests for Civil or Criminal name searches can be handled over the phone back to 1990 for no fee. Prior to 1990 there is a $5.00 per name charge. Multiple name searches should be faxed to 231-839-3684. Anytime a certificate is required, there will be a $5.00 charge and copies of findings are $1.00 per page. There is a $5.00 fax fee for results or they can be mailed for free.

Birth Certificates

Birth records can only be given to the named party or the parents listed. Identification is required and the cost is $8.00 for the first copy and $3.00 for each additional when purchased at the same time. Anyone is eligible to received a birth record that is over 100 years old.

Death Certificates and Marriage License

Certified Death Certificates and Marriage Licenses are available to anyone at a charge of $8.00 for the first copy and $3.00 for each additional obtained at the same time.

Marriage License Requirements

You need to be a Missaukee County resident with proper identification and 18 years of age to apply without parental consent. There is a 3 day waiting period and the cost is $20.00. The license is good for 33 days after the date of application. For a $20.00 fee you can be married by the County Clerk.

Elections

Petitions for elected office, ballot questions and Recall and Campaign Finance forms are available. Election results can be viewed at anytime at www.electionmagic.com or by coming into the Clerks’ Office. You can register to vote at any Secretary of State Branch Office, with your County, Township or City Clerk or online at www.michigan.gov/sos.

Concealed Weapons Permits

The application fee for all CCW permits is $106.00 which includes a $1.00 lamination fee. The CCW Board meets the first Thursday of every month. Our office can take your picture for an additional charge of $10.00 at the time of application.

Passports

Requirements are 2 identical passport photos, certified birth certificate, check or money order in the amount of $67 for age 16 and older (or $52 under 16) made out to “Department of State” and an additional $30 in check or cash form to “Missaukee County Clerk”. You need to bring in a valid Drivers’ license, your filled out application. If the applicant is under 14 years of age, both parents must be present.
