Missaukee County EMS is a division of the Missaukee County Sheriff’s Office. We are solely responsible for providing emergency care to the entire county and cover 576 square miles. EMS is also responsible for all extrication and rescue within our area. We have 4 ambulances; 3 housed in Lake City, 1 in McBain, all equipped at the Advanced Life Support Level. Our rescue truck is also located in Lake City and carries all vehicular extrication equipment in addition to other necessary rescue equipment.
In conjunction with the Missaukee County Sheriff’s Office, we also maintain a rescue boat, an emergency command and communications vehicle and conduct ice and water rescue operations.
We currently have 30 state licensed providers (minimum EMT-B) on our staff, most are volunteers. We have 4 full-time employees, an EMS Coordinator, and a part-time billing person. Our providers have an average of 18.6 years field experience and are the heart of our organization.
