Missaukee County EMS is a department of the Missaukee County. It is solely responsible for providing emergency care to the entire county, which covers 576 square miles. EMS is also responsible for all extrication and rescue within the area. The department maintains 4 ambulances; 3 housed in Lake City, 1 in McBain, all equipped at the Advanced Life Support level. A rescue truck is also located in Lake City and carries all vehicular extrication equipment in addition to other necessary rescue equipment.

In conjunction with the Missaukee County Sheriff’s Office, EMS also maintains a rescue boat, an emergency command and communications vehiclem and conducts ice and water rescue operations.
