Background checks can be done through the Michigan State Police website ICHAT (Internet Criminal History Access Tool) link. You must have a full name and date of birth in order to search. There is a fee for the service payable by credit card before any results are given. Please visit the website at

HSI Victim Notification Program For victims and witnesses to obtain reliable and timely information regarding an illegal alien's release from custody, you are required to register with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
